100 Word Piece

I am the song writer in my partnership. The song I worte is about Bette Davis and it is called 'Dream'. The song starts off slow and clasical, but then it gets a little twist and turns into a rap song, and it slow and clasical like in the bignning. The song first talks about how Bette dreams of being a star, and that she does not care about what people tell her because she knows that she will make it one day. Then in the rap part of the song it talks about how she is making money and then how she gets breast cancer, but just because of her situation she will not stop acting untill the day she dies.

My connection

The reason I picked Bette Davis and the Breast cancer foundation as by two resilient people/organizations is because I truly admired them. By that I don't mean that I think they have really good singing voices or that they score a lot of touch downs. But that they are (or made up of) truly resilient people that set out a goal for themselves and did(or is doing)everything in their power to reach it. Like Bette Davis, even during the time she was fighting breast Cancer she still continued acting because that is what she had wanted to do. I connect to her because I also have disabilities that sometimes enable me from doing the things that I want to do. And I understand how hard it is to deal with those things, so I have a much deeper understanding of what she has gone through.

Connecting with my project

This project is very personal to me because I love acting, and learning about Bette Davis, who was a woman that was a wonderful actress, who went through a life changing thing such as Breast Cancer is amazing. Because even though she was in a hard condition she kept on doing what she loved which of course was acting. Bette Davis never gave up. Ms. Davis is one of the most resilient women I have ever learned about.

Song for Bette Davis

For our Bette Davis song we are going to make a bachground music in Garage Band, while someone is saying some quotes that Bette Davis said.
The quotes will all show resilience in one way or another.
Here are some quotes:
"I went back to work because someone had to pay for the groceries."
"I will not retire while I've still got my legs and my make-up box."
"Old age is no place for sissies."
"That's me: an old kazoowith some sparklers."
