Bette Davis
Who: Bette Davis [a.k.a. "The First Lady of the American Screen"]
What: A liberated woman that could play difficult and powerful roles on T.V. shows and movies. She also battled breast cancer for 6 years.
Why: Even though she had breast cancer she did not let that stop her from doing what she loved, acting.
When: She developed breast cancer whe she was 75 years old. Nine days later she had a stoke, but she kept acting.
Where: She died Oct. 6th 1989 in Nevilly-sur-Seine, France at age 81.
Connection: Bette and The Foundation have talked about breast cancer, and have gave infornation to the public. They also encourage woman to get checked, and never give up on your dreams. Both Bette Davis and The Brest Cancer Foundation have opened our eyes to notice that even though some woman may go through breast cancer, that doesnt mean that you have lost the battle it just means that you have to work a little harder then other woman. You may not always win the fight but you should make everyday of your life count.
